Alberion, A Brief History

Humans first reached Alberion 700 years ago, in the year 900, by an expedition party. The party was sent to find a place of asylum for the survivors of an orc ravaged kingdom from far across the sea. This initial group of heroes enabled the kingdom of Krien to safely start anew, and a city was named after each of these members. The kingdom took years to recover but eventually, with the help of neighboring elves and dwarves, they were able to establish a strong and nobel civilization. In the year 1100 a brash monarch Leopold Krien began harvesting iron wood from the elven forest TemerĂel. The elves diplomatically pleaded for Leopold to cease his operations and the destruction of their homes, but with the arrogance of a young king, Leopold refused and threw the two races into a 40 year war. The war left both the elves and humans severely weakened, but with the triumphant capture of Leopold and his subsequent exile the elves had won. The humans returned to their homes and held free elections as a council of elders named the Ring took power in order to rebuild. The ruling council now works from the capital in Krien and has sought over the past 500 years to maintain peace among its people.

As 500 years passed, elves became mere legends. No sign of elves remain within Alberion, and with it the stories and songs of war become no more than legends.
